Before you buy, in the store
- Cubes are 33 × 33 cm: door, drawer and DRÖNA box inserts are still sold new and also fit the older EXPEDIT, whose outer frame is thicker.
- Check the back panel (thin fibreboard, often pierced or unnailed) and the middle shelves: years of books can leave them sagging.
- A unit used lying down may have tired dowel holes: push a corner to make sure the cubes still sit square.
