A wash-basin cabinet may be sold without the basin, tap or trap. Check which components are included and their article numbers, as well as the dimensions around the water supply and waste pipes. A matching front is not enough to establish compatibility.

For a mirror cabinet or a mirror, measure the space and identify any constraints on opening, fixing and, where applicable, power supply.

Look for signs of moisture damage

Check the edges, the underside of the unit and the areas around the fixings. Warping, swelling or traces of damp can make a discount far less appealing. Ask the store for details when the description does not settle the question.
