Check the dimensions and the kitchen system

A cabinet, a door, a hinge or an interior fitting does not make a complete kitchen. Identify the system and the article number: the fact that it comes from IKEA is not enough to guarantee compatibility with your kitchen.

Measure the space available and compare the exact dimensions, opening direction, finish and included accessories. A small difference in depth or a door from another generation can make a purchase unusable.

Assess the condition and the cost of making it fit

Examine the edges near the sink and other wet areas, the fixings and the drawer mechanisms. A cheap offer may require extra parts: list them and check they are available before you buy.

For an appliance, check the specifications and condition with the store. Electrical, water or gas connections must comply with the instructions and the applicable requirements; do not judge whether the work is feasible from the price or the listing photos alone.
