Used IKEA sofas & armchairs in Canada: 191 on the shelves

What to check in this category

Compare a complete sofa, not just a range name

A starting price may be for a single module, a chaise longue or a cover rather than a whole sofa. Check the article number of each offer, the number of seats and exactly what is included. Two KIVIK or two VIMLE sofas are not necessarily the same configuration: the orientation, fabric and armrests can all change the final cost.

To choose between two comparable items, note the differences in fabric, cushions and listed defects. A big discount against new does not automatically make up for a cover that needs replacing or a missing module.

Check how you will use it and how it will get into the room

Before you travel, measure the space, the doorways, the stairs and the lift. Ask whether the listed dimensions are for the assembled sofa and which parts can be separated according to its assembly instructions. Moving an assembled sofa can cost more than the price difference between two listings.

In the store, inspect the seats, seams and legs and, for a sofa bed, the mechanism and the sleeping surface. The condition category describes the listing: it is no substitute for the description of that particular item or for checking it yourself before you buy.
